Node snapshots

Pre-synced chain data archives for Midnight nodes. Restoring one brings a new node up to a recent block without syncing from genesis.

Restoring from a snapshot

Stop the node: sudo systemctl stop midnight-node.service
Download the archive for your network from the table above.
Move the current data directory aside: sudo mv /var/lib/midnight/node /var/lib/midnight/node.bak
Extract the archive: sudo tar xzf <archive>.tar.gz -C /var/lib/midnight
Restore ownership: sudo chown -R midnight:midnight /var/lib/midnight/node
Start the node: sudo systemctl start midnight-node.service

Archives unpack to a node/ directory and contain chain data only — node keys (chains/*/keystore) are excluded, so copy that directory across from node.bak if your node has one. Paths above assume the default data directory /var/lib/midnight/node; adjust for your own layout.
